TV 2008: 10 shows the Watcher likes but rarely writes about
Not every series demands immediate watching in order to keep up with the water-cooler conversation. Here are 10 that fill the Watcher’s DVR for convenient viewing. 1. “Nova” (PBS) - Consistently excellent science reporting that shines through the murk of ancient mysteries, fighting sharks and ghost hunters that pose as science elsewhere on the dial. 2. “Antiques Roadshow” (PBS) - Who doesn’t love “Antiques Roadshow”? 3. “Dogtown” (NatGeo) - Follows the lives of abandoned dogs that arrive

The 10 Best Cats Of 2008
The posting of cat videos is kind of a joke around the nonexistent Videogum water cooler. It’s funny because I don’t really love being around cats (just due to allergies, OMG gross TMI!) but I do love cat videos, and also because it’s funny and weird that posting cat videos is a large part of anyone’s job. I think of the occasional cat video on this site as a service to those who like cute things, but not all the time. Like if Videogum was orange juice, and cute things were pulp, we would be “s

What Reuters wrote is both

Show your love. G’head. Do it.
Jerry Lewis has his telethon. Public television has its pledge drive. Toyota has its “Saleathon.” We’re nowhere near as savvy as those folks. And personally, I’ve always hated guilt-trips that start with the words “For just 50 cents a day — less than the cost of a cup of coffee…” It’s just so … Sally Struthers. So here’s a twist on the “end-of-year membership blitz” concept. We don’t want your money. We’re not going to ask you to donate to our Paypal accounts. We don’t even have a tip jar.

Feeling the love!
Several people have just recently listed me in their top five favorite people to follow on Twitter, so of course my post-CAE exhausted/sickly funk has started to dissipate, thanks to you! I am SO feeling the love, thank you guys! So I thought I would do the same and list some of my faves for everyone (in no particular order). I have so many, so this was actually really hard to do - so why these Twitterers? Because: they are REALLY FUNNY as well as SUPER SMART, they can send KILLER tweet quote
