Is recess at risk of extinction?
A recent post in the BabyCenter Community brought to light the grassroots battle being waged in New Jersey to grant school kids a break during their day – a recess from the classroom. As the mother of a preschooler who enjoys a two lengthy, fresh air breaks each day, I was dismayed to learn that there are young kids who don’t have the opportunity to take a break. These school children may spend up to 6 hours in the classroom without the physical and mental benefits of an unstructured respit
